Abstract
In a commentary, SMU Assistant Professor of Philosophy Matthew Hammerton and Dr Kalpana Vignehsa, Senior Research Fellow at NUS Institute of Policy Studies discussed whether becoming parents is worth the effort and suggested four frames for people to consider. They opined that having children is one of the best ways to broaden one’s life experience, as it provides prolonged exposure to the vagaries of human life in a way that few other options can.
