Abstract
Personnel psychology is a subfield within industrial, work, and organizational psychology that is concerned with the application of psychological theories, methods, and research findings to the personnel (or human resource) functions in organizations. Primary functions include recruitment, selection, training, performance appraisal and feedback, and compensation. This article focuses on the research bases and applications to these functions and outlines the current themes in personnel psychology.
