Abstract
Kuo Pao Kun (1939–2002) was the doyen of Singapore theatre and is considered by many as the most important figure in the nation’s cultural history. The author discusses the art of Kuo Pao Kun; his humanist theatre and his rigorous demands of artistic commitment.
