Managing World-Wide-Web Publications
Abstract
This paper demonstrates the clear need as well as the advantages in having a hypermedia database system to maintain and manage office or Web documents in the HTML format. A prototype system was implemented to demonstrate the research idea. This system provides a structured and controlled means to publish, manage and query HTML documents which is currently lacking. The design is generic and employs a plug-and-play paradigm so that users can choose their own HTML editors and browsers for authoring and browsing.
