Abstract
This paper present the findings of a literature review to investigate the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into computing education. This review focuses on 40 papers from toptier computing education conferences that discuss LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT) with coverage from the capabilities of LLMs to their impact on pedagogy, as well as associated challenges and emerging practices. We identify key trends in the use of LLMs, discusses important lessons learned and outlines future research directions. Our findings emphasize the need for a balanced approach to integrating LLMs in education to maximize their benefits while minimizing potential risks. The research aims to inform educators, curriculum developers, and policy makers on the effective and ethical integration of these powerful tools into computing education.
