Abstract

This chapter on the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) examines its jurisdictional, institutional and procedural features. It answers questions such as: what are the disputes that the SICC hears? Who sits on the bench of the SICC and who may argue cases? How does the SICC conduct its proceedings? The chapter also reviews the impact and the success of the SICC, addressing questions such as: what role does the SICC play in international commercial dispute resolution in Singapore and the region? What contributions can we expect from the SICC in the future? In addressing these questions, this chapter aims to further understanding of the SICC's role in the resolution of international commercial disputes.
