Abstract
Section 377A of Singapore's Penal Code, which criminalises homosexual acts between men regardless of whether such acts are committed in public or private, is an intensely controversial topic in Singapore. Public petitions surrounding the provision regularly generate enormous traction-a peculiarity in a nation reputed to have a relatively docile civil society.
