Abstract
The new-generation South-South FTAs manifest the pivotal role of Global South powers in reshaping world order. Amid populist isolationism in the Trump era, this chapter provides insight into the legal and political aspects of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). The chapter argues that the 16-country mega-regional agreement will galvanize the paradigm shift in Asian regionalism and construct a normative foundation for developing countries in world trade law.
