Abstract

As a vital component of modern urban economies, the night-time economy has emerged as a crucial pathway for stimulating domestic demand and promoting consumption upgrading. With the rapid development of digital technologies and increasingly diversified cultural demands, the deep integration of 'Culture + Technology' has provided new momentum for the innovative development of the night-time economy. This study focuses on how 'Culture + Technology' empowers the night-time economy, exploring its impact mechanisms, current status, and development pathways through theoretical analysis, case studies, and empirical surveys.

First, this paper constructs a theoretical framework for 'Culture + Technology' empowering the night-time economy based on Cultural Scene Theory, Digital Empowerment Theory, and Experience Economy Theory. The research findings indicate that cultural empowerment enhances the vitality of the night-time economy by elevating brand connotation and attractiveness and stimulating diverse consumption demands, while technological drivers promote the intelligent development of the night-time economy through innovative consumption scenarios and optimized operational efficiency. The synergistic effects of both further expand the space for product and service innovation, facilitating coordinated upgrading of the industrial chain.

Second, through analysis of the macro-level status of China's night-time economy, this paper reveals characteristics including rapid market scale growth, business format diversification, uneven geographical distribution, and youthful consumer demographics. Meanwhile, using Yongqi Technology Group as a case study, the paper deeply analyzes the application practices of 'Culture + Technology' in projects such as the Ningbo Three Rivers and Six Banks, examining current bottlenecks in night-time economy development and Yongqi Group's successful experiences. Through questionnaire surveys collecting consumer satisfaction data, this study further explores the consumption experience upgrades brought by the joint empowerment of culture and technology. Using the difference-in-differences method, the study quantitatively evaluates the impact of "Culture + Technology" on night-time economy development, finding that cultural element integration significantly enhances the attractiveness of night-time economy projects and digital technology application promotes operational efficiency improvements, thereby validating its significant effectiveness in improving night-time economy quality.

Finally, this paper summarizes three main models of  "Culture + Technology" empowering the night-time economy: cultural experience-oriented, technology immersion-oriented, and integrated innovation-oriented. It also distills three empowerment pathways including technological innovation application, industrial ecosystem coordination, and operational service optimization, and proposes policy recommendations addressing current challenges such as homogeneous competition and singular technology application.
