Abstract
Central to both the Confucian and Daoist imagination, the concept of the Daocuts across partisan or sectarian divides. While open to diverse interpretations, itfurnishes a focus in the unfolding of Chinese thought. Extending beyond China,the concept has made its presence felt in Korea and Japan.
