Singapore Management University held classes at the Bukit Timah campus from August 2001 until July 2005.
Originally built to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of Sir Stamford Raffles’ arrival in Singapore, the 11-hectare Raffles College campus in Bukit Timah opened on 22 July 1929. Over the years various educational institutions have occupied this site. Singapore Management University made extensive renovations to the original buildings in 2001.
On 11 November 2009, the National Heritage Board announced that the original Raffles College buildings and the two quadrangles would be preserved as national monuments.
