Abstract
We develop several methods for scheduling location-dependent queries clients cross cell bounderies in a multi-cell wireless environment. Our study is based on a common scenario where data objects are stationary while clients, which issue the queries, are mobile. For query processing, we use Voronoi Diagrams to construct an index and a semantic cache for improving data reusability. For handoff clients, we propose three scheduling methods, namely, the priority method, the intelligent method, and the hybrid method to improve performance. A simulation is conducted to study the performance of the methods.
