Abstract
The article explores and analyses the issue of civil liability of Vietnamese judges arising from the performance of their adjudicatory tasks. This is discussed in the light of relevant provisions contained in the the 2002 Ordinance on Judges and Jurors of the People's Court and the 2002 Law on Organisation of the People's Courts. The potential impact of these provisions on judicial independence in Vietnam is also examined.
