Publication Type

Publication Date

Abstract

Among large British manufacturing firms, profitability was found to be positively related both to product diversification and multinational diversification. The principal direction of causation appeared to run from profitability to diversification. In contrast to prior studies, no significant profitability differences were found between related and unrelated diversification strategies.
